I noticed that SHASHCHESS with only HIGHTAL enabled, finds hard positions really faster, and also stronger in tournament.

Why ShashChess? The engine is updated to SF 16.1 but with many options that Stockfish does not offer: MCTS Search, CTG/Polyglot Books, Styles (Petrosian - Capablanca - Tal), Self Learning, Persisted Learning, Live Book, Minimum Thinking Time, Slow Mover.

Brainlearn and ShashChess by Andrea Manzo. Currently both engines use the SF 16.1 code, but have numerous settings and can learn. In particular ShashChess uses special codes, from super positional to ultra tactical.
