How to avoid early draw games

Post by massimilianogoi »

Nowadays draw games are generally high quality games, mainly because of the NNUE networks use. But there are too many of them and the human gets quickly bored of it.

All one have to do is reducing the quality of games.

There are several ways to do it, I'm gonna list them:

1. reducing the number of threads

2. not using the nnue networks

3. use very short time, less than 1 minute + 2 seconds increment

4. avoid any kind of ending tablebases

5. using a not top-notch engine, like Deep Fritz 14, Deep Fritz 13 or CuckooChess

the side effect of these five methods is that they will lead sometimes in engine miscalculations, for example from |±0.30| to |±1.40| after a single move, especially if you use these methods together

6. personally I advice this way: using your machine full-force (many threads) , with engines using NNUE networks, top-notch chess engines and a single line very short and very unbalanced opening book for all the games of your tournament.

For example, Scandinavian (centre counter) Defence [B01] single line of the opening book:

1. e4 d5 2. exd5 c6 3. dxc6 Nxc6 4. Nc3 e6 5. Nf3 Be7 6. d4 Bd7

You can get this opening book here (CTG, BIN and PGN): https://www.mediafire.com/file/i2arbfk2 ... e.zip/file
