Righto !
Another problem that you guys can help me with.

From a PGN game file I want to extract all games with a first evaluation of plus or minus say 3.00.
And if possible .. :D :D .. say after move 30.

Any ideas ?
IF another app can do this then ditch pgn-extract and please let me know !!

This sounds really complicated. Of course if the evaluations aren't already there, they have to be added first. So pgn-extract wouldn't work anyway. If they *are* there, I think you might have to try some search and replace, maybe? Not sure how, but if you could replace any first evaluation that isn't good enough with, say, three x's, then you could go into Scid and filter out anything with xxx in the PGN. Just an idea.

pgn-extract has the ability to mark positions etc via the vars file but unfortunately it does NOT mark evaluations. Maybe I'll ask David Barnes if there's a workaround. He's helped me in the past and am hoping he does so again but I'll just think about it first.

You're right games without evaluations are not of much use regrettably.

More later .. :handgestures-thumbup:

I'm afraid you need to write a specific program for that...
